In January 2011, I decided to reduce the amount of meat that I consume drastically. It is important to me to eat as little meat as possible which ideally means zero meat. This is a personal choice I made in reaction to what I considered sufficient evidence that eating meat is largely unnatural, unhealthy, unethical, and environmentally damaging in today’s world.
Blogs regarding my choice and supporting my meatless lifestyle (including recipes) will be categorized “Project Meatless“

I too have reduced the amount of meat in my diet. However, I’ve mainly been cooking at home and have not ventured out to restaurants often. Looking forward to your blog entries in this space!

Nice! It’s been really natural for me…I don’t even think of “meat” as food anymore!
My strategy was to just stop BUYING meat. (It just sounded less threatening than “stop eating meat” I guess.) But, the result is the same! If I don’t have it, I don’t eat it. I have to play these little tricks on myself because I don’t really have a lot of self control…

Awesome! I too, have been on a meatless quest. It took a couple years of eating less an less red meat, then less chicken, then less fish then August of last year I stopped eating all meat. I do not crave it at all. It is extremely odd, the hardest part was dealing with the fam/friends back home. I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA where meat and potatoes go together like an inhale/exhale.
Other than that, I find it an adventure to create my own meals at home or finding veg alternatives at local restaurants if they already don’t have a veg menu, which is always a plus. Keep it up! I’m curious to see some recipes too
Hi Nilo! I know exactly what you are talking about with the fam/friends deal. All mine are really supportive of me, but a big part of my family-time is spent in the kitchen cooking. And, although I still get to cook veggies and other yummy stuff with them, I know they feel a smidgen uncomfortable about the meat thing.
Since I stopped eating meat, I’ve fallen in LOVE with indian food. They have tons of vegetarian options!
Here’s an amazing Lasagna recipe for you: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/roasted-vegetable-lasagna/detail.aspx
I add a bajillion different types of mushrooms and mushroom spaghetti sauce.
good good! i was a vegetarian for a long time, then led out it by another, even though i didn’t really want to leave that life behind.. then i went back to it. never to eat meat again i hope. and my veggie lasagna gets much praise!
